Southward Events Centre offers one of the most diverse and flexible collections of event spaces in the Wellington region.

Located alongside the iconic Southward Car Museum, our venue features a purpose-built theatre, professional conference facilities, intimate meeting spaces and more than six hectares of landscaped outdoor grounds, creating the ideal setting for conferences, weddings, performances, corporate functions, workshops, community events and outdoor festivals.

With ample free parking and the unique character of one of New Zealand's most recognised motoring destinations, Southward Events Centre combines atmosphere, convenience and versatility to create memorable experiences for every occasion.

Southward Theatre

A large, fully equipped performance and event venue featuring a professional stage, intelligent lighting and audio systems, and comfortable tiered seating for 474 guests. The theatre can also transform into a flat-floor banquet hall for up to 400 seated or 500 standing.

Bugatti Room

A bright, spacious conference and function room overlooking the museum collection, ideal for seminars, weddings, dinners and corporate events. Seats 150 theatre-style or 140 banquet style, with integrated AV and easy access via stairs or elevator.

Bentley Room

A comfortable mid-sized room perfect for workshops, team meetings, community events and smaller celebrations. Seats up to 80 theatre-style with flexible layouts and presentation equipment.

McLaren Room

A private, professional ground-floor meeting room for up to 10 guests, designed for executive meetings, interview sessions, planning workshops and confidential discussions.

Outdoor Grounds

Over 6 hectares of versatile park-like grounds ideal for weddings, car meets, festivals, team-building days, outdoor concerts and large public gatherings. Multiple lawn and open-field areas offer endless layout possibilities.
